with Youth and Students

Good morning!
It is an honor for us to be in front of this Plenary made up of young women and men, Young People, Dignified Patriots. In addition to all of us who are here in person, we have 208 connections on line, with more than 6,000 Compañeros and Compañeras, to whom we send greetings from this National Assembly.
We greet all our Youth, young women and men of Nicaragua and we also convey the greetings of our Co-Presidents, Comandante Daniel Ortega and Compañera Rosario Murillo. We are accompanied here by these Young Leaders, Compañera Darling Hernández and Compañero Oscar Pérez, who are with us. Also with us are the leadership of the Sandinista Youth. Everyone, welcome.
Here we are young people too of all times, I want to introduce them to you: Dr. Arling Alonso, she is the First Vice President; our Heroine Amada Pineda, Second Vice President. Our friend who has been steadfast throughout this process with us, María Haydee Osuna, Third Vice President. Dr. María Auxiliadora Martínez, who is president of the Justice Commission. Dr. Wálmaro Gutiérrez, president of the Economic Commission. On this side here we have our Compañera, Professor, Doctor, Loria Raquel Dixon Brautigam, a Caribbean Woman, First Secretary of the Assembly. Also Dr. Wilfredo Navarro, Second Secretary of the Assembly.
Here too Dr. Alejandro Mejía Ferretti, Third Secretary of the Assembly. Also our friend Mario Asensio, who is the Head of the Independent Democratic Political Grouping (IDB). Our friend Lester Flores, the head of the Liberal Constitutionalist Political Grouping. We greet also Dr. Edwin Castro, who is away on another mission.
We are going to take a tour of the history of Nicaragua, because it is necessary to be clear about the moment we are living and why we are living it, and why this Reform to the Constitution which we are going to present to you and which we will submit to you today, is the result of an entire Historical Process in our country, which has been synthesized at every moment with events which are constantly repeated, which become practically laws in our country. To every foreign intervention, to every attempt at subjugation, to every attempt at domination, our country responds by producing Heroes. Nicaragua responds by giving birth to Heroes and mostly young people.
We began this task with clear guidance from Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario.
Comandante Daniel, on July 19th in his speech he said, expressed very clearly: “There are not going to be elections here again.» And then he said: “There are not going to be elections here again that may allow the enemies of the People to seize government, seize power and reverse what we have been conquering.» And then he said “We have to put up a wall, a barrier, so that those who are lying in wait cannot come to break our Peace, wanting to set this process back.”
This very beautiful process is restoring all the rights of the Nicaraguan people, and to prove it: Who do we have here? Our youth, Members. Because the People are President, that’s what our Leaders, Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, have explained to us, we are building a model of the People as President.
When we began this task and when we began to carry out those directives, the Special Constitutional Commission met, we took the necessary steps and what we did was identify from the guidance and speeches of our Leaders and from the sentiments of the Nicaraguan people three words, important concepts, namely: «Stability, Security and Peace.» And if we ask the Nicaraguan people, what is their greatest aspiration? they answer that it is to live in Peace.
We all want to live in Peace. Our People are a Dignified and Peaceful People and we want to live in Peace. But to have Peace we need Security; without Security there is no Peace and to have Security and to have Peace we need Stability. Those three words are totally intertwined. Here is an objective stated by our Co-Presidents, by our Government, by the Nicaraguan people, which is, and the Comandante said it last Monday, he said: We have to eliminate Extreme Poverty and defeat Poverty. That is the central objective and to achieve it we have to guarantee «Stability, Security and Peace».
So, we started to review the history of our country. We are going to take a very quick tour of the history of our country. In these beautiful landscapes of lakes and volcanoes and the Isthmus, which was still not Nicaragua then, but there was a Cacique named Nicaragua and there was another named Diriangén.
The Spanish colonialists appeared here in 1522, on an expedition by Gil González. They came with an idea: looking for gold, they came looking for slaves, they came looking for the transit between the Caribbean and the Pacific, from there came the idea of that transit between the Caribbean and the Pacific.
And here the Nicaraguans were offering peace. However, what the Spanish offered us was humiliation and to overwhelm us. We resisted, and that is a law of this country, of this People, of this race of ours: that when outsiders want to impose domination on us, Nicaragua produces Heroes. Our Anti-imperialist Indigenous Heroes emerged: Diriangen and Nicaragua. In 1523, they got together and defeated the Spaniards in Diriamba, in the Quebrada del Perro, and managed to expel Gil González, the first defeat.
But the important thing to note is that this is the reaction of the Nicaraguan people. The Spanish did not cease in their attempts and, in 1524, they arrived again with Francisco Hernández de Córdoba and, as elements of domination, created Granada on the land of an Indigenous People, who were the Xalteva, and they created León on the land of another Indigenous People, who were the Imabite, who were on the shore of Lake Xolotlán and their colonialism began there.
That’s when the Spaniards began to enslave, to pursue with hunting dogs our Native Peoples, our great-great-grandparents, those of whom Sandino was proud to say: «I have Indigenous blood in my veins,» because it’s not just simply something to say but knowing how that blood carries years of Resistance, of Dignity, of Defense of National Decorum, as Sandino said.
So we pass on, to show you what I mean, Adiact appeared when they moved from the Imabite lands to Sutiaba, because they were taking over our peoples. There the Cacique Adiact appeared and resisted; they betrayed him and hanged him. Then they expanded further going to Boaco, Chontales, the banks of the Olama River, and there appeared the Cacique Matías Yarrince, who was a man who had a lot of prestige with his People. They wanted to buy him off and gave him the rank him Captain, but he realized their trap, resisted and took up the fight for his People in 1777.
What did they do? He was captured, there was a betrayal, another element that is practically a law in our history: The invading enemy tries to subjugate us, Nicaragua responds with Heroes but there is always a germ of betrayal throughout our history. So, Yarrince was betrayed, he was captured, he was taken to Guatemala and he died in 1780.
But we kept fighting and another Indigenous leader appeared, Tomás Ruiz who appeared in 1813 and, really, Tomás Ruiz was born in 1777 but was important in the new century since in 1813 he led the struggle of the Indigenous peoples, the important thing is that this Indigenous leader became a lawyer, became a priest and, furthermore, founded the college on which the National Autonomous University of León was developed later. He is a Hero of our Independence, he fought against the Spanish. What I mean to show by offering these examples is that is the struggle of our People.
From 1522 to 1821, which is the Independence of Central America, we spent 300 years fighting. How could it not get into our genes? How could the struggle against the colonialist, against the imperialist, against the interventionist foreigner not get into our heart, into our soul, into our idiosyncrasies? After the Independence of Central America we continued fighting, because there were those who wanted to inherit the strength of the Spanish Empire and they gave it a name: the oligarchy, the one we all hear about. They were a few Spanish families who felt they should be total heirs of the power of domination.
In 1823, another Hero named Cleto Ordóñez appeared. He is a Hero of the People who raised their flag in the fight against the oligarchy.
What is important about 1838? That the first Constitution of our Republic appeared and the name of Nicaragua appeared as an Independent Republic, a Unitary Republic, because before that we were part of the Central American Federation.
We are trying to show that, since the beginning of the formation of our Nicaragua, a constant has been the struggle against all attempts to dominate us, the struggle against all attempts to subjugate us. But the other constant, along with the presence of foreign domination, has been the production of Heroes to confront those attempts at domination.
Thus was formed the Nicaraguan People’s sense of Dignity, which we are demonstrating today with Daniel and Rosario at the helm. Nicaraguans are demonstrating their sense of Dignity. And then we begin a new story because the space left by the Spanish Empire was being occupied by a new Empire, the North American Empire, grandson of the British Empire, son and grandson.
And then ever since 1855, we began a permanent struggle to this day against the attempted domination of the North American empire over our country, over our People, over our People when we are well aware that in all that journey we are going to find aggression, Nicaragua responding with Heroes and aware that the germ of betrayal is there, always, at every moment.
In 1855, you already know this, William Walker wanted to dominate, he came looking for the very same passage from the Pacific to the Caribbean and made himself President of the Republic of Nicaragua. He was determined to do so, and came with that clear idea, with that order, financed by the US businessman, Cornelius Vanderbilt, because they were coming to look for that transit.
And what easier way to be able to dominate? Walker appointed himself President of the Nicaraguans and the treason of always appeared. There are letters from some members of the oligarchy, what a coincidence that many are the same surnames that we heard and that we saw when the golpistas left there on the plane, they are the same surnames back then asking and praising Walker: Thank you so much because you have come! There was the immediate recognition of the Yankee Government of that time of Walker’s Presidency and the blessing of the priests of that time, particularly of Monsignor Vigil, who called him: “The North Star coming to save Nicaragua”, that is the treachery we have always had to face. But the story is the same: Invasion, Reaction: Heroes like José Dolores Estrada, Andrés Castro and the Indian Archers of Matagalpa.
We have Continuity: the Liberal Revolution of José Santos Zelaya, and the transformation thaty began in the country, because, as Comandante Daniel also explained ten days ago, Zelaya really did make a real revolution, he made a Constitution called the Libérrima, he made changes in the way of life, the way things were done. At that time there was no public health, health care was provided by religious orders. At that time there was no public education, there were no public schools, there were only the religious orders giving education out of charity and giving it in the houses of the rich.
The economic model was that of a conservative, practically feudal hacienda. The owner of the hacienda owned everything that was inside, even the human beings, that’s how they always think and what they want to return to, but there we spent all that time then fighting against a new Empire.
José Santos Zelaya came, made his changes, but then tried to agree with the Japanese the construction of the Canal through Nicaragua. The Yankees were not going to allow that, they pressured him, they sent gunboats to intimidate him in the Caribbean, in Bluefields, and gunboats to Corinto and they gave him a note of ultimatum, known as the Knox Note. We are talking about 1909, but all of that was a plan: they made Zelaya resign and two years later they installed Adolfo Díaz. In 1912, Adolfo Díaz requested the Yankee intervention, the US intervention. That is, they came to us in 1912 to intervene and what got what they were after, an intervention, which, however, according to our historical laws, created an unforgettable Hero, a Hero who took the first step to change history, who was Benjamin Zeledon.
General Benjamin Zeledon, resisted the Yankees. There, in Coyotepe, in La Barranca, the Comandante made reference to the letter Zeledón left when he knew they were going to attack him and he knew that he was in the minority while they, the Yankees along with the traitors, had superiority and the Yankees and quislings attacked him. At that time, the one who accompanied the Yankees to assassinate Zeledón was named Emiliano Chamorro, these are not coincidences.
Zeledon was murdered. The Yankees always do what they like to do to us, they and their sell-out quislings, they always use the politics of terror, they are terrorists. Just like what they did to us in 2018, when they burned our brothers and sisters, filmed it all and uploaded it all to the social networks. Just like they did to us, they stripped our brothers naked, painted them, flogged them, released them naked, recording them with their bruises and all of that was filmed and uploaded to the social networks. They did the same in 1912, they dragged the body of Zeledón in a cart through the town of Catarina so that the People, so that we, the Nicaraguans, could see and be terrified.
What the Yankees did not know and still do not know, we do not care whether they know or do not know, but what we ourselves know is that in our blood, in our soul, in our way of thinking which is in our hearts, we are not terrified and we do not allow them to overwhelm us.
Here we have the example of all our Sandinista Heroes, of all our Nicaraguan Heroes. So, what is it that happened? Sandino saw what they did to Zeledón and he was not terrified. How did Sandino react?He was outraged and that is in our blood. He was outraged and vowed to fight against domination. That is the reaction of the Nicaraguan people that has been permanently accumulating in the action and reaction of the Indigenous soul and spirit of the Nicaraguan race.
And so we reached 1912, at that point, the Yankees already had a President who was Adolfo Diaz. They had destroyed the resistance because they had assassinated Benjamin Zeledón and sent Emiliano Chamorro himself to sign the Chamorro-Bryan Treaty in 1914. The Chamorro-Bryan Treaty said that the United States had the right to the Canal. That is to say, all this history of ours is a history that we must read, study, internalize and make known, because it has formed our way of thinking, it has consolidated our Sandinismo and our National Dignity.
At that point they wanted to establish a structural domination, but now as a model of government. They want to arrange things as if Nicaragua were just another US state, and so they send a certain Harold Dodds. This Dodds was sent from the State Department to put himself at the service of Adolfo Díaz and they told him to write an electoral law, but in what way? In order for Nicaragua to become an image of what they were developing in the metropolis, which was bipartisanship, what we learned in school as the historical parallels. This Mr. Dodds, that’s what he was up to in 1923. On April 3rd he issued that Electoral Law that you can see there, an Electoral Law which develops bipartisanship.
This is a ballot paper from that time: the Conservative Party, the Nationalist Liberal Party. That was the scheme imposed by the Dodds Law, the electoral law that the Yankees wrote for Nicaragua and that the Congress of that time approved. Naturally, a Congress subordinate to the Yankees is not this Congress of young Patriots, it is not this National Assembly where you are here legislating, it is not the National Assembly of the Government of Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario. It was the National Assembly or the Congress of the sellout quislings.
But look, if you read there on the ballot paper: on the conservative side, look who the candidates were: Adolfo Diaz and Emiliano Chamorro and on the liberal side, Juan Bautista Sacasa and Rodolfo Espinosa Ramirez. And the million-dollar question is this: Who was going to win that election? Adolfo Díaz, the one who called for the intervention, and Emiliano Chamorro, the one who accompanied the murder of Zeledón. And on the other hand, Juan Bautista Sacasa, the one who invited Sandino to the last supper and to betrayal. Who do you think won that election? The Yankees, no one else. Is that what we want for our Nation? No, we can’t go back to that.
Let’s see, in this room that is here. Raise your hands women, raise your hands men over the age of 21… these few who are over 21 are the ones who, at that time, the Yankee Law said you were the only ones who could vote.
The first two articles of Dodds Law, the first article says, is the wrong way round, because here we say: “All Nicaraguans can and have the right to choose and be elected.” No, their concept of democracy is the other way around, because they said, “No citizen will have the right to vote.” That means, in principle they deny people the right to vote. They are different concepts and that is the Democracy they want to prescribe us, it is a mechanism of domination.
Article 2: “The right to vote belongs only to Nicaraguan men 21 years of age or older.» In other words, women cannot vote and men have to be 21 years old or older. And yes, those aged 18 and over will be able to vote, but only so long as they are married or can read and write. Married, of course, by the church, because at that time there was no such facility to exercise civil rights. Those who can read and write. But only the children of the landowners and the rich could read and write because they paid for their education. So, those votes were designed to favor the oligarchy. This is the kind of democracy we were being prescribed.
Then, here we arrive at a very important date for us for us to be able to understand what the Yankees were up to. The Dodds Act was passed in 1923. In 1925, one of the Yankee puppets carried out a coup d’état called El Lomazo, because it was a coup d’état on La Loma, here in Tiscapa, and it was the same Emiliano Chamorro, the same murderer of Zeledón, the same one we saw on the ballot paper, the one carried out a coup d’état.
It seems to me that this coup d’état could hardly have been carried out without the authorization of the Yankees, and it was made against a government of those who we call chachagua. That is to say, that there are two parts in it, but they are the same, it was a government of a conservative with a liberal. In 1925 he carried out his coup.
In 1926 a new note came from the Yankees, the Kellogg Note, which told him: «We do not recognize you.» And then, very promptly, Chamorro hands power over to Uriza so that he can pass it back to Adolfo Díaz. That is, they set them up. That’s a Yankee maneuver. What’s the maneuver for? To provoke a war, to bring about the Constitutionalist War. And that gave them the pretext to land 5,000 Marines in Corinto with 16 warships on December 24, 1926.
Then, at that point, all of us realize that they had the same Adolfo Díaz as President, we realize that they already had an army of 5,000 men, here, that they already had the Canal signed over to them, and the conditions were there, the same old model. Then, they came, negotiated with the traitor Moncada and told him: «We’ll buy all your rifles from you and we’ll make you President.» And, in the meantime, we’re going to create the National Guard to make this whole political process disappear.
This is how we arrive at May 4th. What are we celebrating? The Day of National Dignity. But we celebrate it thanks to our General Sandino, because, really, as Sandino said, it was a day of ignominy. Because on May 4th, 1927, when the Espino Negro Pact was agreed, they made the agreement, they handed over the rifles, but there was a General who carried Indigenous blood, who represented all that history that we have been recounting and who says: «I neither sell out nor surrender,» and he transformed that day of ignominy into the Day of National Dignity, May 4th. We should never stop feeling proud of our Sandinismo, of our history and of that Hero we have who guides us on the path of our Patriotic Nation.
Sandino made his first manifesto, and that is the thought that moves us. Meanwhile, the Yankees keep taking over, they make the Bárcenas Meneses-Esguerra Treaty, whereby they take away from us San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, until they arrived at 1928 and they are supposed to comply with the Espino Negro Pact. How did they do it? By trying to impose their model. And they did so through a law called the McCoy Act.
McCoy was a Yankee General appointed by the Yankee President to come here and be the President of the Supreme Electoral Council, it was then called the National Council of Elections. That is why we are going through this history, so that you will see, when I explain the Reform to you, you will see the historical meaning.
Our President of the Supreme Electoral Council is a hero of ours. She is Compañera Brenda Rocha, you know her, and the Supreme Electoral Council is of Nicaragua, for Nicaragua’s people, for Nicaragua’s elections.
To the contrary, back then they made this law whereby they appoint a Gringo General at the head of the Supreme Electoral Council. And there we have put up on the screen this little paragraph where it clearly says:
That the President of the Republic, in view of the fact that the Supreme Court of Justice, by agreement of the 17th of the current, has appointed, in place of a so-and-so X who had resigned, appointed Mr. General Frank Ross McCoy, President of the National Council of Elections. And that this high official…
Look, if that is where one feels that one’s blood is burning: «This high official, in that capacity and because he has been appointed by the President of the United States, must direct the election of the supreme authorities of this country.”
That is to say, they were acting as if this country were their state, as if it were subordinate to their laws, and that is why Sandino fought, and that is why Sandino triumphed. And that’s why Sandino is still here, with all of us, with all of you, with you young people, fighting to make sure those days never come back. That’s why Sandino is still here with us, with Daniel and Rosario at the helm, so that thoses days never come back and that should multiply in all of you, for that was the reality back then.
But how do you think a General, Head of the Supreme Electoral Council at that time, was going to be able to control all the elections? Very easy: you had to put a US Marine Major in one department, a US Marine Colonel in another department. That is to say, all the electoral structures were controlled by Yankees and Yankee marine officers had to be in charge of the polling stations.
There you can see it. In that photo, the one above, is a line of voters at a polling station. And here, the Head of the polling station is the Yankee officer. Those were their free elections, those were the elections these criminals who live advocating for free elections long for.
Here are some who are waiting to vote. Here are the electoral policemen, back then it was the National Guard and here is the head of the polling station, a Yankee marine, a barbarian. There’s the voting line, the electoral policemen with their bayonets and the Yankees over there. And this one is very important for us to see: here are three Marines protecting this Yankee who is Major Joseph Pate, who was the Chairman of the Election Committee in Esteli. They had a General in the Supreme National Council, they had everything occupied.
Then comes a story of continuity of Dignity, Sandino managed to expel the Yankees, and this People will not be forgiven for that. There are two defeats the Yankees officially recognize in their history: the one Sandino inflicted in 1933 and the one Vietnam inflicted in 1975.
So then they leave, but the year after their official defeat they come along work out how to murder Sandino and they use a marine, a traitor, a cruel murderer: Somoza. They had already created an occupation apparatus, an occupation army, which was the National Guard, and they murdered our General but only to make the same mistake again.
They thought they were going to dominate when Zeledón was murdered but Sandino emerged. Then they believes they were going to dominate by murdering Sandino and persecuting the Sandinistas, but all they did was to release the spores of Freedom and the appearance of Sandinista spores, always multiplying. The beginning of the end came with the heroic act of Rigoberto López Pérez. Later, Carlos Fonseca and the other founders of the Sandinista Front got together and they are foundational in our history producing the Sandinista militants who guide us now.
On October 13th 1977, a Victorious Insurrectionary Strategy began, was put to the test, which Comandante Daniel led and championed in San Fabian and less than two years later came the Triumph of the Sandinista Popular Revolution, which is the real demonstration of the right thing to do.
Then we come to a slightly more recent history. We had been resisting since Reagan signed his order to the CIA to use the Contras as an army against us. The People resisted for 10 years, we were winning in all fields, Comandante Daniel was guiding that triumph in all fields: victory in the military field, but also victory in the legal field, with the International Court of Justice.
The Political Constitution was approved, the one we are reforming, and we arrived, with Comandante Daniel at the helm, at the signing of the Esquipulas Agreements, seeking Peace and then the Tela Agreements, which were in 1989 and what they say is, in essence, that the Contras be disarmed. The Comandante said: we are going to bring forward the 1990 elections, which were in November, to February, in search of Peace.
But there is another period: the grandchildren of the traitors returned to power during the period when neoliberalism returned under the Chamorro government. The elections were well organized because they were organized by the Sandinista government. The elections were well-counted, they were transparent, but they were not free. They were not free because the Yankees, to this People whom we have already said that their highest aspiration is Peace, the Yankees told our People: «If you vote for the Sandinistas, the war will return.» Obviously, the intelligent People knowing that their aspiration is Peace want anything but war.
And the election went against us, but since we are part of the People, and since Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario are part of the People, since the Sandinista Front is part of the People, then Comandante Daniel said, “We must do what the People say.” We know that they threatened the People, putting a gun to their head so that they would vote against or not vote for us, but we obey the People’s will.
And then he said two things: one, «We don’t come from above, we come from below and we know how to fight from below, so we are going to govern from below.” And the second thing: «We are going to return to the government by the electoral route, by the way of votes.” That’s what Comandante Daniel said.
And when he said «we are going to govern from below», he meant to confront this: The neoliberals were privatizing Health Care, Education, taking away 6% of universities, privatizing basic services, privatizing water, that was their great project. That’s why the Comandante last July 19th said: why do they want to return? They want to return so as to turn education into a business. They wanted to fool us talking about school autonomy, or autonomy for the hospitals, when what they meant was privatization.
And in addition, in 1995 they made a Constitutional Reform and, perhaps, they tried in vain because there was resistance from the People and they could not push it through, but they tried reforming the Constitution to give legalize all this privatization, to remove the 6% support for universities. That was the struggle, with Daniel leading it, Comandante Daniel traveling town by town across the whole country.
Let’s not forget the fraudulent election of Dr. Alemán and the election of Enrique Bolaños, when the Yankees tell us we have to be democratic. Look at their Democracy: here are the ballots thorwn away in rain water channels and here’s the Yankee Ambassador of that time, a certain Oliver Garza. Don’t forget the name, it’s the name of a wading bird: Heron. He accompanied the candidate of the oligarchy, Bolaños, the neoliberal candidate, all over the campaign trail, and delivered food to people as part of the campaign. We don’t want that here anymore, there can be no more foreign interference here. There will be no more foreign interference in Nicaragua’s internal affairs and elections.
We returned, as the Comandante said we would, by the electoral route in 2007, these are some examples: These were the lines with the bags of ballots that they never took into account, everyone was there waiting for the ballots to be counted. That was the democracy they prescribed for us. Here is the struggle for the universities’ 6%, here is the struggle of the transport operators.
You are college students, young people who understand all this perfectly, what we are putting up on the screen for you now is to demonstrate the following. We came to government here in 2007, and these are growth percentages, the kind they usually deceived us with: that we grew by 5% or that we grew by 4%. Well here we have the demonstration of our economic growth. Here we went down and GDP decreased because, in 2008, there was an international financial crisis, there was a real estate crisis affecting the Yankees and that ended up affecting us.
But well, we recovered again, we were growing and, from here to here, in those 10 years with a model organized by the Comandante and the Compañera and by the Sandinista Front, which was called Dialogue, Alliance and Consensus, our economy was growing. And Nicaragua’s growth, in terms of GDP, averaged 5.1% per year for those 10 years. Despite the ups and downs, the average was that.
But you can see here when they launched their coup attempt. It’s very clear: for the enemies of our country, for the enemies of our model, for the enemies of our political project, the fact that we sustained those 10 years of growth terrified them. They were terrified and he made the traitors launch into that coup attempt.
They destroyed 34 billion dollars of our wealth and also caused our GDP to fall by 6.2 billion córdobas, but here is the nitty gritty. I want to tell you why I put up this graphic: not to show off intellectually, but to demonstrate what a wise, serene leadership we have always thinking about Nicaraguans. Here we are at the time of the coup, and we started to recover until we arrive here, in 2020.
The pandemic came in 2020, what did they tell us? “You have to lock yourselves down.» What did Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario tell us? «We have to work.» And I remember how the Comander said back then: we are facing three pandemics: the coronavirus pandemic, the Yankee coup pandemic and the main pandemic, which is the one we have to defeat, which is Poverty.
If we locked ourselves down, maybe we were going to get a little less sick from coronavirus, maybe not, in fact we managed to prove that we didn’t, but the other two pandemics were going to continue and we were going to be locked down and out of work…
I totally remember that directive. Look what happened: that’s our growth in 2021, after the pandemic, came the two hurricanes: Eta and Iota. And, despite that, we still reached 10.5% growth. That is to say, here we have shown that this model of the People President we have been building, is invulnerable and we have to deepen it and besides making it entirely our own, make sure it can never be reversed.
The nominal GDP with which we started in 2007 was 136,950 million córdobas. Then, in 2017, we had GDP of 414,279 million córdobas and, in 2025, we have a nominal GDP of 814,420 million córdobas. This is what we have to see: those billions are of the People President. And these irrefutable numbers mean no one can be fooled
So you see, that’s why we have to defend this political project, this model of the People President, because it’s not only that we come and talk about these numbers, or that the Comandante looks at the numbers and says to us: let’s keep on this route. But he also tells us: the People President means that everything is for the People, and everything we do is for the People.
This is the Velez Paiz hospital, it was inaugurated in 2018. Then, the Mauricio Abdalah hospital, next the HEODRA hospital in León, then there is the hospital Heroes of Segovia in Ocotal, then there is the hospital in Bilwi, there is the Choir of Angels pediatric hospital in Estelí, then there is the Jacinto Hernández hospital in Nueva Guinea. All these are new hospitals, and the Comandante has said: we’re going to build one for the Original and Afro-descendant Peoples in Bluefields and we are going to build the “Lesbia Carrasquilla” hospital in eastern Managua. In other words, don’t let anyone come to us with their false stories, Brothers and Sisters. Every peso with which we manage to increase these figures, anyone can talk about, but not any Government or any President can put them to work.
Here is one of the new highway flyovers, and now we can also go to this one on the Carretera Norte where there’s another new highway flyover. And now we can see the Heroes of the Insurrection urban highway, and also here on the screen we can put up the highways to Bilwi, to Bluefields, the big Wawa Boom Bridge, that is to say, these are realities. There is the Soberania Stadium, the Rigoberto López Pérez stadium in León, the Masaya Stadium, the Stanley Cayasso stadium, which is now starting to be built. That is to say, this is the People President, that is what we all work for, that is why we are all determined to defend this model of the People President.
Now let’s go to the vote, there are seven things to vote on. This is Article 1 of the Constitution. This Article 1 of the Constitution we must always keep in our minds, in our hearts, because it is a kind of summary of all the history that I recounted to you:
Independence, Sovereignty and National Self-determination, Security and Peace are the inalienable rights of the People and the foundation of the Nicaraguan nation. Any foreign interference in the internal affairs of Nicaragua or any attempt to undermine those rights threatens the life of the People. It is the duty of all Nicaraguans to preserve and defend these rights. Consequently, all those who violate these sacred rights of the Nicaraguan people will be considered traitors to the Nation.
This is the current Article 1. This is the summary of all our history in those two paragraphs. Already here, with this Article that was in last year’s reform, we have already incorporated the terrible experience that must never happen to us again, that of 2018, because anyone who attempts to do that is a traitor to the Nation.
So, from there, with all this that I have told you, with all this history, we have seven proposals, it may be that each of them is really an Article.
The first has to do with: «Independence, Sovereignty and Self-Determination». We propose to add, and this was an orientation of Comandante Daniel, of Compañera Rosario, and we all agree. But now we are consulting whether everyone agrees, let’s see if the country’s Youth agrees.
To add to the Constitution, in Article 12, this paragraph here:
The Political Constitution of the Republic of Nicaragua prohibits, and therefore does not allow, the extraterritoriality of foreign laws. That is to say, no one can come with stories about the Nica Act, or the Renacer Act, no. In our Constitution, we do not allow the extraterritoriality of foreign laws. Only the application of agreements signed on behalf of the Nicaraguan State.
No law, regulation or regulation issued by another State, group of States or international organization that endangers the Independence, Sovereignty, National Self-Determination, Security and Peace of the Nicaraguan People and Nation shall have legal effect in the national territory.
This would be the first article of the Reform.
Idea two: The fulfillment of the Comandante’s directive, on July 19th when he said: «They will not be able to. They will not be able to. They will not be ableto».
Are there going to be elections and are they going to be the same as always? Yes, there will always be elections and they will be orderly as always and in the same voting centers. And so, what is it that changes?
«They will not be able to»: citizens have the right to elect and be elected and to run for public office, except for the limitations provided for in the Political Constitution.
Coup plotters, traitors to the Nation, those who violate Article 1 of the Constitution and those who violate the Fundamental Principles of the Constitution may not be candidates for popularly elected positions nor may they hold public office by appointment of the Presidency of the Republic or election in the National Assembly. Those are the ones who «won’t be able to.» That history we recounted to you is not going to be repeated here again.
Do we agree? Well, if you agree, raise your hand. Yes, you all agree.
This is a paragraph of what is written, because no one should think it’s being conjured up out of thin air. No, the Constitution is going to include this. And who are those who «Will not be able to»? Those who incite or promote foreign interference, and how is it incited? It’s not to do with anyone making a formal request. No, it includes anyone who posts a TikTok saying: «I hope they come here to invade us», in other words, they will be part of the group of those who are “not going to be able to”.
Are we clear? That is to say, it is very concrete: Those who ask for military intervention will «not be able to»; those who organize with foreign financing. We have already seen how they abuse foreign money, to carry out a coup. Those who organize or support economic blockades or those who call for sanctions for us all, for institutions, for Nicaraguans, for citizens, «will not be able to». So «They Will Not Prevail».
Let’s go to the third point, «Stability”: We said at the beginning: we need Stability, and it is also has to do with the period of government and the period between each election so that they give enough time for the People to look at how we are doing, to look at the progress, how we are progressing. So, everyone’s proposal, the proposal of the Comandante, the Compañera, the Assembly, the one we present to the People President, is that the period for the People President have to make their revisions is seven years. Remember that it used to be five, now it’s six and then we analyzed now it should be seven years.
The period established in the Constitution of the Republic for positions of popular election and for those of election and ratification by the Assembly shall be seven years. So we are going to elections, according to that, if you approve it, in 2028.
Are we clear? Well, if you agree, raise your hand and if you agree, shout too.
Fourth point, «Cohesion and Security» If the term of the elected positions is seven years, the proposal is also to include in the Reform Law that the term of the Heads of the Police Forces and the Commander-in-Chief of the Army is also seven years, so that we are coherent and have Security. If you agree, raise your hand.
It is approved, so we are moving on.
Five, «Guarantee of Electoral Democracy» Our Democracy is not elections, that is a very small part of our Democracy. We saw our democracy there in the photos on the screen: it’s the school meal, it’s access to education, it’s the 300,000 young people at the university, it’s the 60,000 young people in the Rural University program. Our democracy is those hospitals offering care for free and caring for poor people, since they are the People President. That is our democracy.
Our democracy is that we have electricity and it makes me laugh when I say “let’s switch on the lights”, because I have always been saying so often recently, and now we are surprised when the power goes out: the power went out, and we ask what happened. But before, in the neoliberal period, the surprise was that the lights came on. It was the other way around, because during that time the darkness was dreadful.
So, that’s our Democracy, that’s our Democracy. But Electoral Democracy is a part of Democracy and it is important, and we have to take care of it and we have to guarantee it. And the «Guarantee of Electoral Democracy» is to give the Supreme Electoral Council the strength to carry out these orders that we now will have in the Constitution. The Supreme Electoral Council, obviously, is ours, they are Nicaraguans. It is a Nicaraguan Heroine who is at the forefront and who is going to apply Nicaraguan laws.
What are we saying? We have to give the Council the Constitutional strength to call elections every seven years, when appropriate; so that, if there is someone who violates the norms that we have already looked at while discussing the point «They will Not Be Able to», they will not give legal personality to a political party that receives external financing; it cannot be given. And to another political party that already has it but which is being financed with money from abroad or which is violating the Constitution, then its legal personality is removed, canceled, provided that it the reason for measure can be verified. So, this reinforces the Supreme Electoral Council.
Do we agree, Compañeras and Compañeros? I put to the vote what would be the fifth Article of the Reform to the Constitution. Raise your hands, those who agree.
The sixth article is an action to repair an oversight. Nicaragua has two National Heroes universally recognized around the world, they know us for Darío, for Sandino, for the Sandinista Revolution and Daniel and Rosario. We are the only country that has the privilege of having male and female Co-Presidents, but also not just for the fact of them being Co-Presidents but for the fact of their own inherent value. So we are know for those four reasons.
Darío is a National Hero, a Universal Poet and our Prophet. But what had we done? We had made the inauguration on January 10th when just eight days later was the birth of Dario. So we need to remedy this situation and this is the sixth reform. The date of the inauguration of the Co-Presidency of the Republic will be January 18th in tribute to our National Hero and Universal Poet Rubén Darío. And so that we don’t forget we named this reform after Dario’s poem called «Pax», «Peace» in Italian.
That is an act of justice, or rather of a reparation that we have to make. So I put this to a vote, which would be the sixth Article of the Reform. Do you agree? Raise your hands, those who agree.
And this is the last one, look: «Coherence». A word we must always pay attention to, we must be consistent. Our thinking must be coherent with our behavior; be coherent in everything. So, the «Coherence» in this case is: since we are already clear and, when this is approved, we are going to have the national elections in 2028, seven years. But the authorities now were elected only until 2027. So we have to be consistent so that there is no vacuum, and that’s what this reform is about.
Firstly, the terms of the authorities elected by popular vote in the last general, municipal and regional elections in force are extended to seven years from the date of the last election, so that it is all consistent. Secondly, the terms of the positions appointed by the Presidency of the Republic or by means of election or ratification by the National Assembly are extended to seven years.
There are a number of positions affected there, the President of the Central Bank, President of the Banco Produzcamos, the positions of the Supreme Court of Justice, the positions of the Supreme Electoral Council itself. All these are also extended by seven years and, in any current national legislation on the civil service where an established period appears, seven years should be read so that there is no doubt. That’s called «Coherence» and it would be Article number 7 of the Reform Law.
Do you approve of us incorporating it? Do we agree? Well, hands up those of you who agree… unanimously.
Well, Compañeras and Compañeros thank you. You have had unparalleled patience, but you are also the clear expression of our Dignified Youth, our Patriotic Youth, a Youth willing to work for happiness and work for the Tranquility of the Nicaraguan People.

This Youth supports the Partial Reforms to our Political Constitution, Reforms that we are sure will strengthen our Sovereignty, our Self-determination, our National Independence.
It is the treasure our Heroes and Martyrs fought for and bequeathed to us today. This Youth expresses full confidence in our good Government, presided over by our Comandante Daniel and our Compañera Rosario. The only government in the history of Nicaragua that has been concerned about Youth, that has been concerned about generating opportunities, generating development and everything that Young People need.
The only government that has been concerned about taking education to the most remote places in our country. Proof of this, as an example, is the Rural Universities program. Universities that also receive full university scholarships for all their students. The only Government that has taken care to work on programs and strategies adjusted to the needs not only of young people, boys, girls, but to all the free women and men who defend our country.
This Youth reaffirms our commitment and is fully convinced that these Reforms will continue to protect and defend our country and that we will continue along routes of Prosperity, on routes of Victory. We are sure that with the Sandinista National Liberation Front we will continue to build a nation of Peace, with great consciousness, with great leadership for young people.
Go ahead, Brothers and Sisters, we are the Youth here supporting you and we will continue working for a greater and better Nicaragua, with the best leadership and the best Government that we have had in this country, Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario. We will continue to work with the Sandinista National Liberation Front.

First, I would like to thank Compañero Gustavo Porras for the excellent presentation he has made to us and we have been watching him during this Consultation Process, which has been magnificent.
When we talk to Youth, we speak a simple language, a language I am sure that this morning you have come to touch on and also to awaken the curiosity to continue learning about our history, the history that defines us, the history for which we continue to strive and we also come as Sandinista Youth to support, to reaffirm this Consultation Process. Not before reminding ourselves where we come from and where we are going. I think this is a fundamental axis which we, as Youth, do have. We are clear that the enemy remains the same, as history shows.
The enemy is always there, aware of us, aware of everything we have done and also to aware that we continue to change Nicaragua. When we talked about this phrase and the Compañera also reaffirmed it yesterday and said: «We are continuing to change Nicaragua.» We can see her in these images, in these works of progress, because, as they mentioned, we are not active on social networks, we have shown that we do that very well, but we figure not only there, we figure in the neighborhood, in the community, where there are all those works of progress that all the Compañeras and Compañeros in the departments have already pointed out.
It’s palpable, it’s not just about talking, and we remember that we’re never going to go back into darkness, those quislings are never going coming back, our children are never going to go hungry again. So we firmly support this Consultation Process, we also firmly support our Co-Presidents, our Compañera Rosario, our Comandante Daniel, who are an example of Dignity and Courage for all of us, young people, and for all Nicaraguan families.
We are also from here committing ourselves even more to continue building those routes of Victory and routes of Prosperity, and we also tell the enemy outside and that we know they are watching this moment, that they are not going to return and that, even if they die of rage, we are going to remain steadfast here.

Good morning, Compañeras and Compañeros. Good morning, Heroic July 19th Sandinista Youth.
Good morning, Compañeras and Compañeros of this Heroic Youth of the soil of our Comandante Julio Buitrago Urroz, Youth of the Department of Managua, in this National Assembly, and to the young people who tune in to us also from all over the country. Brave young people, young people who, without a doubt, consistently support these reforms that guarantee the Stability of a People, the Security of a People, the Peace of a People who have struggled day after day to have their dreams fulfilled.
Today none of us play on rough tin can slides because now we have every one of the children’s parks built by this Sandinista National Liberation Front. Today we don’t end up scratching our legs, today we don’t have to ride those beaten up old buses, today we don’t have to stand outside the National Assembly fighting for a constitutional 6% foe universities.
Today, from this Parliament, we are guaranteeing the Stability of our People, who, without a doubt, deserve all the victories we have seen reflected in each of these images today, Compañeras and Compañeros, and that we continue to fulfill today. But not only do we have the images of these megaprojects, but also the guarantee and Dignity of a People reflected among young people, among families who today live in Villa Virgen de Guadalupe, in what used to be an impoverished shantytown, where there were families who had nothing to eat and who had to pick through the garbage for what they were going to eat. Not today, today those people have a decent home, today every young person who with dreams of doing well has the right to have a business.
There are even endorsements by our authorities for business entrepreneurs, for small entrepreneurs who come from this People, without having a well-known surname, we are also watching us here. And that is the envy the enemy feels, that is their grudge and that is what they want to take away from our Dignified People who have always been combative. The envy it gives them is that now the children of a peasant, children of someone who never went to university because they did not have the right, today they have citizen security, today have access to health care, today have access to free, quality education, today have access to Higher Education. And that today these young people, we even see in small things, they have the possibility to ride their own vehicle, even if it’s a motorcycle, call it a vehicle, call it even what you like but that’s what makes the enemy envious, that today young parents are receiving homes in the Bismarck Martínez project, that today these young parents and their families are not paying rent.
And that’s it, that’s what they want: to turn Nicaragua into a business for themselves. But here we are more than clear among this Heroic Youth, hand in hand with Comandante Daniel, with Compañera Rosario, that this is our only guarantee that we can continue to grow as a Nicaraguan people. And that is why, today, this Heroic Youth, this protagonist Youth, this Youth who have dreamed for many years of what we now have guaranteed today, thanks to this good Government, this is why we, Compañeras and Compañeros, firmly support this Reform to the Political Constitution of Nicaragua.
And above all so that those traitors to the nation are never forgotten, and that here we never repeat the past again. Here we are not going to allow them to. Outside, as the song says, they can say whatever they want, but if they are here, inside my country, inside this land, of indigenous blood, of the blood of our General Sandino, of the blood of our Heroes, of the blood of our Martyrs germinating day by day, they will never be able to come here to do what they want, because there is a Dignified People in Nicaragua.
And there is no question here of this Youth, being of the kind who come to shout four or five times at the negotiating table demanding surrender, because that is not who we are. Here we speak with actions and with coherence, above all about what we have in our Patriotic Nation and above all what we have restored today, Compañeros and Compañeras, thanks to Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, because we sitting here we are the true representation of the Nicaraguan Youth.
Here we have young street vendors, here we have young entrepreneurs, here we have young athletes, here we have this Youth who truly represent love for our Patriotic Nation and, speaking of love for our Nation, today we commemorate the Heroic Deed of Pancasán, today we remember all those Heroes and Heorines and we tell them that we are obeying them, guided by Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, who are the guarantee, the only guarantee, ladies and gentlemen, who may be watching us, that this Youth will continue to triumph and that this country will continue to progress and, above all, to continue guaranteeing Victories and reaping Victories, Compañeros and Compañeras.
So, beyond any doubt, and above all with the absolute certainty that we will never repeat the past again, because here there is a Youth that supports our Comandante Daniel, our Compañera Rosario, in the decisions that are taken in this country, Compañeros and Compañeras, because they have been the only ones who have fulfilled our dreams as young people which perhaps our parents did not see, young people’s dreams for which our grandparents fought as well and today we are reaping these Victories and we are today fulfilling each of our dreams, Compañeros and Compañeras.

The Sandinista Youth of the Northern Caribbean, of course, backs and supports this Constitutional Reform, we want to affirm that the Sandinista Youth of the Northern Caribbean, of the Indigenous Peoples, are protagonists today, thanks to this model presided over by Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, the Youth who are President.
Of course, we want to affirm that the dreams we have longed for, today are being fulfilled, as Compañero Gustavo Porras said, today we have the Wawa Boom Bridge that was a much longed-for bridge, today it is a dream come true, thanks to this model presided over by Comandante Daniel and Comrade Rosario.
We also have our General Sandino Hospital Nuevo Amanecer, which today is a great achievement and a dream come true. Likewise, the Caribbean Youth continues to strengthen actively around the issue of Sports, Culture and, of course, around the environmental issue.
But also, without losing the essence of our culture and our identity, we want to affirm that, the Sandinista Youth and the People of the Caribbean: Neither sell out, nor surrender. We’re going to keep striving for more Victories.

Good morning, beloved Compañeros and Compañeras of our July 19th Sandinista Youth, from all over the country. Today we speak from Chontales, the soil of our Comandante Daniel. We speak from Chontales, recalling today that Heroic Deed of Pancasán, land of Pablo Úbeda, land of Cornelio Silva and land of thousands and thousands of young people who are aware and who are support this Revolutionary Model.
We speak from Chontales because we have always supported the model of the Sandinista National Liberation Front, because we are aware that in our department, that in our municipalities and that in our country, only with the Sandinista National Liberation Front, only with the leadership of Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, have we managed to get ahead, have we managed to have five People President Universities, which this very day are awarding more than five thousand students their People President scholarships.
We speak on behalf of the Chontaleña families, of the Chontaleña Youth, who have been protagonists in housing, in hospitals, in streets, in parks, in courts, in sports centers. We speak in support of this Constitutional Reform because it is the one that guarantees children, adolescents, young people, men, women, business people the guarantee to be able get ahead in this Blessed and Forever Free Nicaragua.
We firmly support these Constitutional Reforms because they give us the guarantee that we are a People who have inherited that essence of General Sandino, of Benjamín Zeledón and that today, thanks to our Co-Presidents, we have the advantage of being a Free People, we have the blessing of being a People that always moving onward.
And we are clear, Compañeros and Compañeras, that only with Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario at the head, is the Youth President. Only with Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario at the forefront, will Nicaraguan families always move onward.

Good morning Compañeros and Compañeras, all Nicaraguan young people connected virtually or in person in this partial consultation on our Constitution of Nicaragua, but also all the student movements and all the students of Nicaragua representing more than 2.7 million students who are preparing to carry forward the future of our Nicaragua, we support and reaffirm our commitment to each of the decisions taken by Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, because it is we Nicaraguans who decide for the future of our Nation, it is we who decide what will be done for our people, out of unity, with tranquility, with the Security and Peace that we have been building over these years.
The great history Dr. Gustavo Porras has recounted, the great teaching of all the struggles that our country has had and of all the struggles of our Heroes and Martyrs which are reflected today in each one of the restitutions of rights all Nicaraguan youth and especially the revolutionary people are clear about. Here all Nicaraguans are part of a clear restitution of rights, we are all part of the wise leadership of Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, because the Sandinista Front works for the Nicaraguan People.

Good morning Compañeros and Compañeras, I greet the entire National Assembly, President Gustavo Porras, our Secretary, our Vice President, I also greet the Compañeras and Compañeros of our Youth, Compañero Oscar, Compañera Darling, all that lovely, beautiful Youth, and all our Deputies who are in the National Assembly.
From the Department of Jinotega, we have also been very excited, raising our hands, shouting support, saying yes with great joy, because we totally agree with these reforms, the reforms that are going to put up a wall, a barrier against the quislings, against the coup plotters, against the heirs of those whom Dr. Gustavo Porras mentioned to us, heirs of the betrayals that have led our Nicaragua to forge our heroes that we remember today.
The presentation was very good and very animating, because through this process the Youth is being defended, our Compañeras and Compañeros have already mentioned all the projects we have. This week we have received more than five million córdobas in scholarships for the different universities, for the different models of education that we have in our department.
And who defends that? This is defended by the reforms that we are approving today. Who defends the continuity of Peace, Stability and Tranquility? What is the best thing that our leaders are giving us if not these reforms which are very important for all of us connected on line because we know that there are enemies outside our border, there are the quislings, thinking, how can we stop this model, this example that Nicaragua is for the whole of Latin America, how are we going to stop it? and here our Comandante and Compañera thinking, how they are going to continue supporting our People, our Youth?
We see in the presentation that Dr. Gustavo Porras made to us, that this reform carries the spirit of Benjamin Zeledón, the spirit of Sandino, the spirit of Darío, the spirit of Julio Buitrago, the spirit of Carlos Fonseca, the spirit of Tomás, the spirit of all those heroes and martyrs who rejected betrayal, who fought for our sovereignty and who dreamed of what we have today.
We live in a land of milk and honey with all these projects and with all this process, so today the Youth throughout Nicaragua, as we see there in the Assembly, we are there too and we are going to raise our hand supporting Comandante Daniel, Compañera Rosario and our entire Assembly who are defending our Patriotic Nation.
To tell you, Dr. and to all our Assembly of young people who are there, that this historic, democratic process we are carrying out is also going to remain in the history of our Nicaragua, in years to come these unique processes will be presented there, I would say in the world, where the entire population is consulted, where the Youth have the opportunity to speak in front of the National Assembly, before the top leaders of our Nation and tell them: we are in agreement, we are well aware and we defend our Patriotic Nation.
It will be marked in history that from this revolutionary and historical process Never Again, listen well throughout Nicaragua and the whole world, Never Again will the coup plotters and the quislings be able to sell, or negotiate our Sovereignty. Always Nicaragua’s Youth and the Nicaraguan People supporting Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario and our Sandinista National Liberation Front.

Municipal Coordinator of Sandinista Youth in El Sauce
Good morning, Compañeras and Compañeros of the National Assembly, Members of the Sandinista Youth throughout the national territory.
We want to express, as members of the July 19th Sandinista Youth, our firm support for the Partial Reforms to the Political Constitution of Nicaragua, since energetic support for these reforms will contribute to the development of our homeland, to the development of our youth, to the development of our children.
We are clear that the essence of these reforms is the spirit of the legacy of General Sandino, they represent the spirit of the legacy of Comandante Carlos, they are the spirit of the legacy of all our Heroes and Martyrs, that legacy of the principle of self-determination of Peoples, that legacy of the principle of Independence, that legacy of the principle of National Sovereignty.
That is what we aim for and we feel proud as members of the July 19th Sandinista Youth, to be part of this consultation in which all the Nicaraguan people are contributing, in this consultation where the real model of the People President has been put into practice, because it is a consultation without historical precedent, where the entire national territory has been taken into account to support, ratify and move onward with these constitutional reforms and we are sure that these reforms are going to build an anti-imperialist barrier, they are going to build a barrier against foreign aggression, they are going to build a barrier which will allow us to develop our elections in Nicaragua in a way that is Dignified, Free and our own with Sovereignty, with Independence and with the Self-determination that belongs to the Peoples, which is why the July 19th Sandinista Youth aims to build and rebuild a dignified Nation, an increasingly just Nation where Nicaraguans decide the course our Patriotic Nation will take.

Good morning, Compañeros, Compañeras at the national level who listen to us, who tune in to us, Compañeros and Compañeras from the National Assembly.
Today I thank all our authorities, our Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, who allow us to participate in this historic day, here is the real protagonism of Nicaragua’s Youth. As Compañero Oscar and the Compañera Coordinator of Managua said, the protagonist Youth, the student Youth, the business Youth, the Youth and People of Nicaragua, the Youth who are in support of this Law Reform of our Constitution of our Republic of Nicaragua.
We thank our Comandante Daniel, our Compañera who take care of this young People, of a People that is moving onward, we thank them for these years that we have had of being in power, as Youth, as a People, so many projects of progress, so much dignity, so many affirmations like the People President scholarships for our university students. Right now we are preparing to distribute the scholarships for the students who are going leaving school and entering the university. We have to be clear.
From the department of Rivas, from each one of our spaces we commemorate, from each one of our spaces we support, from each one of our spaces we are going to go on and continue
supporting our Good Government seeking Peace, seeking Love, seeking solidarity, seeking the principle of sovereignty, because here the oligarchs, the Yankees, the puppets, all those traitors of our patriotic Nation will never be in power again, because we are the Youth representing the ideals of Sandino, we are the youth taking up the legacy of Carlos, taking up the legacy of Tomás, taking up the legacy of the Commander and the Compañera, we are here every day fighting the battle for our Nation by means of the social programs, the student programs, the scholarships, by means of each and every one of our spaces of progress, because we have and we are in power, because we are the Youth President and the Protagonist People.
And we are going to continue being those who through all the spaces that our Good Government makes possible for us, we are going to continue giving battle for our Nation, we are committed. I heard the Compañera remind us we are commemorating the Heroic Deed of Pancasán, a deed that allows us to remember and value the legacy of our Heroes and Martyrs and the blood that runs through our veins, the blood of Sandino, the blood of Andrés Castro, the blood of Benjamín Zeledón, the blood of so many heroes of our Patriotic Nation.
We continue to commit ourselves and continue reinforcing this model of Good Government.

Thank you very much Doctor, thank you very much all our young people, Compañeros, Compañeras, Young People in all the municipalities and departments of the country.
There is little left to add after listening to each of the Compañeras and Compañeros and I mentioned here with the Doctor, after listening to each of you, how excited we are to be part of this process and above all committed to each of these special moments which Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario have made possible for us.
We have nothing left to add except to tell Comandante Daniel and Compañera Rosario, here are your Young People, here are the Youth committed to the future of our Patriotic Nation, here is the youth that is attentive to everything you decide, because we completely trust the decisions of our Comandante Daniel, Compañera Rosario, our leaders, and so here we are once again committed and ready to obey.
At your command for any declaration, at your command for us to comply, you only need to tell us what we need to do, because here this Youth is committed to our Patriotic Nation, to our future and to Love for Nicaragua, to Peace and the Defense of Sovereignty.
